He is part of a unique generation, along with the likes of rappers such as Wiz Khalifa and Kid Cudi, who gained prominence through the release of internet mixtapes. Drake is also credited for bringing his city of Toronto to prominence in the music industry, and helped found the “Toronto sound,” inspired by Drake’s idols such as Kanye West and Jay-Z.
With accolades such as winning 4 Grammy Awards from 44 nominations, and having the most charted songs of any artist in history on the Billboard Hot 100, Drake has cemented himself as a mastermind in the music industry through his unparalleled sound and chart-breaking projects.
In this day and age, it is almost impossible to have never heard of the hip-hop powerhouse that is Aubrey “Drake” Graham.
